Jason Van Der Slot Helps Found Australian TP52 Association

Jason Van Der Slot is one of the founders of the Australian TP52 Association. The TP52 Association is comprised of a group of individuals who either currently own a TP52 or have owned one in the past. These people enjoy sailing their vessels, but are not typically known to race them in Class Events. For those who are unaware, the TP52, otherwise referred to as the Transpac 52, is a specialized yacht that is designed for competitive racing.

The Associate Members of the TP52 Association are able to have the TP52 logo on their mainsail and can even get special services such as having their boats or boat equipment advertised on the main website. These members are also able, and encouraged, to promote TP52 races using special fleets and classes. Jason Van Der Slot is in full support of the association, and he has helped to make it what it is today.

Jason Van Der Slot grew up in Tasmania, where he began to learn about the art of sailing. His family owned a sailboat and used it quite often. This is when a young Jason Van Der Slot first began learning about sailing. He began to learn all that he could about the mechanics of sailing. This involved learning about the vessel itself and the physics involved in sailing. Today, Jason Van Der Slot is well known for being one of the founding members of the Australian TP52 Association. He helped it form out of a loosely organized group of TP52 enthusiasts, into a well-oiled organization that is officially recognized.

He helps to ensure that the members of the organization are fully prepared in the day-to-day activities required to keep the organization going. It is comprised of a Class President, who is also a member, as well as an Executive Committee of members. They are in charge of creating, maintaining, and enforcing the bylaws of the organization.
